BUT wait don't ditch your denim shorts this winter! Another summer essential are the denim shorts my pick, my trusty frayed cut up vintage LEVIS. They can make their way into the winter season by pairing them with printed tights to keep your stems warm! I styled this look with a boxy way over-sized white button up I got at SAVERS in the XXL section. ((I look at every rack because it challenges me to style certain pieces in different ways. This button up can also be worn as a tunic dress with thigh high boots to balance out the shortness.)) I half tucked the button up for styling purposes to show off this BRIGHTON brown leather belt. For accessories I chose this gold octagonal plated fringe necklace to accentuate the collar element. The final touches are a swipe of NYX's Alabama the perfect matte red lipstick to add a color pop and you are ready for a lunch date with the girls!

SIDE NOTE: the holiday season has been a whirlwind and I finally got to posting. My goal is to post every day but things get in the way: time management and a big thing, self doubt. I doubt that anyone reads this besides me and if the content is good enough. I know as my style evolves so will the content and the quality of work. the lace tank

 For the next couple of posts, I decided to choose certain staple summer items and transform them into California appropriate winter outfits. First up is this FREE PEOPLE white lace top which opens up on the sides. I layered the top with a vintage military jacket and some black joggers. The patent leather TOPSHOP shoes added to the boyish vibes along with the jacket. I piled on the jewelery to enhance the bohemian feels of the lace top. The bejewels consists of beaded bracelets, stoned rings and a tassel necklace. A lace tank top can easily translate into a California winter look by ditching your cut-off denim shorts and opting for pants and your favorite vintage outwear piece! #SHEDGAF she wears her summer staples in the winter!

leopard and stripes

A favorite mash up of #SHEDGAF mixing leopard print and stripes in the classic color waves. I kept the rest of my outfit black so there isn't too much going on and distracting. I found this over-sized stripe tee at a church rummage sale for probably fidy cents!!! It definitely has been lived in because they're are holes in the shoulder and its perfectly faded, all the things I love about thrifty finds.  Wearing an extra large tee allows you to get creative with your styling! Some tips and tricks I love are half tucking the top into your bottoms, knotting the corner or wearing it as a dressy with stockings. There's so many ways to be a game changer and take risks while having fun dressing up. Don't fret it if you are weary about trying new trends and styling tricks people aren't looking at you because you look weird, they're looking at you because they is trying to cop your style!! #JOBABYYKNOWS and plus #SHEDGAF you are a fearless bombshell!

Looking for a wedding party dress can be a total nightmare when you have something specific in mind and are on working with a low budget! Every time I'm a guest at a wedding I never know where to start when shopping for that perfect dress with just the right vibe I'm going for. I searched every rack of all my favorite stores and finally found the dress that fit the mold of my theme. I'm super excited to show you guys the dress but for now I leave you with Pinterest inspiration for a winter wedding vibe, everything down to hair and makeup!

coulda woulda shoulda

I coulda shoulda woulda but I didn't; I didn't fight for it hard enough with all my might and being I had it in me but I didn't. The walls are coming in they're getting smaller and smaller, my screaming is only becoming louder and louder. Why didn't I?!?  

I coulda shoulda woulda held you much tighter so you would know and never forget who I am to you, WHO AM I TO YOU?!? Your lips, your hair, your skin, your eyes, your ears; I memorize it all. The way your voice cracks. The sound of your breathing once you fall asleep with me over the phone and when we're together. I miss it all. I miss not having enough room for us in my twin bed. I miss having arguments about where to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I'm at a lost with words. Do you still have a lot on your mind? You said you had time to think. Unfortunately it may have been a don't know what you've got until its gone deal. She was searching for all the right words. She held onto him physically and mentally and was scared to let go. She found safety in him for so long. It took her forever to feel something and at that moment she felt everything, sadness and fear her heart was heavy. 

I am me and you are you and the past is the past. The present is now and I am here thinking I coulda shoulda woulda called you mine; MY LOVER, MY BEST FRIEND.

boyfriend's bomber

The last SHEDGAF outwear pick is the "Stole your boyfriend's bomber jacket" look. You're a forgetful girl who leaves her jacket at home when she spends the night at her boo-thangs, but no worries he has that bomber you absolutely  love = problem solved. This particular bomber always reminds me of Ryan Gosling's scorpion bomber in the movie Drive. I instantly inherit that SHEDGAF attitude when wearing it. I love the borrowed from the boy's look so I went for the extra slouchy white boyfriend jeans paired with a shredded DIY t-shirt. I balanced the boyfriend look with a chunky heeled bootie to add a bit of a feminine touch and wore a black beanie to break up the white on white. So there you have it 5 outerwear key pieces that SHEDGAF will have on rotation this fall season! What are your fave outerwear pieces?!?
